Yes. mdtable.app is free to use in your browser. No account or signup is required.

Does my table data leave my device?

No. Editing, paste, copy, and download all run locally in your browser. Cell contents are not uploaded to a server.

How do I create a Markdown table?

Edit cells in the visual editor (or paste CSV/TSV), set column alignment with L/C/R, then copy the generated Markdown pipe table from the preview panel.

What paste formats are supported?

Tab-separated values (typical Excel or Google Sheets copy) and comma-separated CSV. The first row is treated as headers.

How does column alignment work in Markdown?

Use L / C / R under each header. The separator row uses :--- (left), :---: (center), or ---: (right) — GitHub-flavored Markdown.

Can I use these tables on GitHub?

Yes. The output is standard GitHub-flavored Markdown pipe tables, suitable for READMEs, issues, and pull requests.

Why are pipe characters escaped?

A bare | inside a cell would break the table. The generator escapes pipes as \| so your content stays in the correct column.
